New York City – As promised a couple of days ago, I’m sharing a proud moment in my life with you. Last night was the ceremony for receiving my blackbelt in kenpo, something I’ve been working towards since August of 1998 when I first started studying the art. Because this was not held at our usual promotion ceremony with a lot of pomp and circumstance, it was a small, simple affair, with a group of my fellow students. Here, Sifu Jack Shamburger, the head of our system (Chinese Hawaiian Kenpo) and school spends a few moments talking about the path of study and the road to blackbelt, and then, with two of our school’s other blackbelts at his side, presents me with mine.
Dan — Wish I could have been there!
Congratulations!
Yay! More gratz dear! : )
