We love television because television brings us a world in which television does not exist.”

Buenos Aires – Some of you may remember I mentioned back in November that we’d had a telelvision film crew in for one of our dinners (their idea, not ours, though in a moment of mental fog, I agreed). The show has apparently been released, though I don’t quite understand where it shows up out there in TV-land. However, I have a copy of it, and have extracted the segment that covered puertas cerradas style dining. Enjoy!
This segment is extremely fine, Dan. You, Henry and Casa Saltshaker all come off looking very good. Although I’ve seen your kitchen, after viewing this I am impressed even more how you can prepare so many covers in so small a space.
I love this, seeing you all in action! Bravo!!!
I’ve had an idea for awhile now about starting Supper with Saratica. I get lots of requests from expat-wannabes to “take me to dinner” and pump me for information. I understand that, but a) I don’t really like to go out – we eat so much better at home. Costa Rica does not have the choice of restaurants that you have, no where near!!! and b) I don’t really want to go out to eat mediocre food and answer a lot of questions… if someone wants me to share my experience, they can come to me and pay me… most everything’s on the blog…
Anyway, I came up with Supper with Saratica. The emphasis would not be on international cuisine – Hal and Mom, as excellent as they are in producing scrumptious food, are not chefs. So it would be good, fresh food made from local ingredients, homemade bread and ask me anything. It would be a good excuse to spring for your book, eh???
What do you think? Maybe not a big moneymaker, but at least pay us for our time, we love meeting new people, eating good food, staying home… seems to meet a lot of needs. I’m having deja vu – did I say this before?
Anyway: LOVE the video, how fun!!! As soon as we have some income, I’m coming there to eat. Pura vida, Saratica
Well gee, if you’re going to ask me questions and want me to share my experience, you’re just going to have to come here and pay me!
😉
Boy! Look how much Dan has changed since he became a famous tv chef.
Actually, if you read the comment I was responding to, you’d see why I said what I said…
Trust me, I’m looking forward to it! Unfortunately for you, I’m going to want one of everything…
You’ll just have to move in for a few weeks…
